When people ask how ShiverMedia came to be, I reply “It’s that moment in the creative process when you look at the project and just know. Like those moments in life when you just shiver in at something so beautiful.” As artists, we don’t get that feeling from every project. But when we do and it just resonates…
The heart of the name ShiverMedia is that it is inspired by the ColdPlay song “Shiver” The song resonates to my passion for creativity and new media. To my lust for things artistic and beautiful, as well as my desire for relinquishing myself to the process.
It may sound silly, sure, but we like it. We like throwing ourselves head first into our love of art, like the songs unencumbered look at how easily one can lose themselves. And so, when we decided to start our own creative studio, ShiverMedia sounded absolutely perfect. It constantly reminds us of why we parted ways with cubicles where we were cooped up in sterile off-white walled rooms that restrict creativity.
ShiverMedia Creative Studio is the collaborative work of partners Heath Bell and Jamie Butler.
Heath Bell has been a graphic and web designer for over ten years, with comprehensive experience in both web and print design and production. Heath has worked for corporate marketing departments, web development studios, e-commerce retailers and a wide variety of freelance clients. The extensive portfolio includes web design, Flash, print advertising and digital media planning. There is also an acute adeptness in HTML/CSS, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash. Premiere Pro, After Effects and Wordpress Blogs. Heath’s accumulated experience also includes project management, trade, and B2B marketing strategies, affiliate sales and eMarketing.
Jamie Butler is an experienced photographer with over 10 years experience working in high volume studios. She has an extensive background in sales, marketing, and high-end photography. Jamie’s career has included point-of-sale and web-based retail, trade, and B2C marketing strategies. Her recent and independent projects portfolio includes director of photography for video production and works in web and graphic design.
